Cllr Duff&#8217;s tweet suggested that as he had met people wishing ill of Alex Salmond, that celebrating\u2019s Nick Robinson\u2019s cancer diagnosis was therefore acceptable<\/p>\n<p>Replying to a comment I made on Twitter about ugly nationalism, Twitter user @TheQuietNo tweeted, &#8220;Burning Smith Report, saying Murphy stole from the Clutha fund, laughing at Nick Robinson getting cancer, etc. etc. #SNPout\u201d.  In response, Angus SNP Cllr Bill Duff tweeted, &#8220;Met plenty of people who wished Alex S ill . What&#8217;s your point?\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheQuietNo\">@TheQuietNo<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ssamani\">@ssamani<\/a> Met plenty of people who wished Alex S ill . What&#39;s your point?<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Bill Duff (@BillNorAngus) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillNorAngus\/status\/572431094563401728\">March 2, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Cllr Duff had previously received criticism for a tweet during the referendum campaign in which he described No Voters as \u201csecond class Scots\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>To excuse horrible CyberNats attacks on Nick Robinson is disgraceful.  Bill Duff should withdraw his tweet and condemn the attacks on Nick Robinson. Given the \u201csecond class Scots&#8221; saga, I seriously doubt that he will.<\/p>\n<p>Having watched my mother, father and mother-in-law all lose their battles with cancer, and seeing my wife go through the hell of chemotherapy, I would not wish cancer on anybody.  The disgusting comments by CyberNats about Nick Robinson are a new low in the nastiness of the independence debate.<\/p>\n<p>I am on record condemning any abuse by both supporters of <a href=\"http:\/\/sanjaysamani.com\/blog\/2014\/09\/attacks-by-no-supporters-unacceptable\/\" title=\"Attacks By No Supporters Unacceptable\" target=\"_blank\">keeping Scotland part of the UK<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/sanjaysamani.com\/blog\/2014\/08\/referendum-campaign-hits-new-low-point\/\" title=\"Referendum Campaign Hits a New Low\" target=\"_blank\">by those supporting Independence<\/a>.
