{"id":624,"date":"2015-04-16T12:17:40","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T11:17:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sanjaysamani.com\/blog\/?p=624"},"modified":"2015-04-16T12:17:40","modified_gmt":"2015-04-16T11:17:40","slug":"snp-have-centralised-life-out-of-tayside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/sanjaysamani.com\/blog\/2015\/04\/snp-have-centralised-life-out-of-tayside\/","title":{"rendered":"The SNP have centralised the life out of Tayside"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish Lib Dems have published a report showing the impact on SNP centralisation on Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>You can read the full report here: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scotlibdems.org.uk\/centralisation\" title=\"The SNP have centralised the life out of Scotland\" target=\"_blank\">The SNP have centralised the life out of Scotland.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The impact just for Tayside has been:<\/p>\n<p>What has been lost:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perth &amp; Kinross Council, Dundee City Council and Angus Council stripped of financial responsibility.<\/li>\n<li>Tayside Police abolished and their Dundee HQ scrapped.<\/li>\n<li>Police public counters closed in Auchterarder, Blairgowrie, Brechin, Carnoustie, Crieff, Kinross, Longhaugh, Maryfield and Montrose.<\/li>\n<li>Arbroath Sheriff Court closed.<\/li>\n<li>Tayside Fire and Rescue Service abolished and their Dundee HQ scrapped.<\/li>\n<li>Local Tayside Enterprise company board disbanded and now controlled centrally.<\/li>\n<li>NHS capital funding decisions for up to 22 local hospitals now made in Edinburgh.<\/li>\n<li>Angus College and Dundee College merged, losing local links.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What has been given:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Policing with centrally imposed stop and search targets up 236% in Perth &amp; Kinross, 325% in Angus and 102% in Dundee even though the police admit there is \u201cno robust evidence\u201d it works.<\/li>\n<li>Armed police routinely patrolling even the smallest towns and villages.<\/li>\n<li>Local health services which miss important treatment time targets for children and young people suffering from mental ill-health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish Lib Dems have published a report showing the impact on SNP centralisation on Scotland.
